50 hours of training comprises of:

  • Gender Roles and Stereotypes

  • Healthy Relationships

  • Human Rights

  • Historical –Social – Political context of DV

  • Diversity (DV in Gay & Lesbian relationships, Cultural and Linguistically Diverse cultures & Indigenous Communities)

  • Effects of Domestic Violence

  • Resources in the Community

  • Communication skills

  • Presentation skills

  • Classroom roles and skills

  • Then Practice, Practice and more Practice!

After the training modules are complete the next process is planning and preparation this is ongoing throughout the year to support Peer Educators with their presentations.

School Session plan

Peer Educators present to young people/ year 10 classes, with 2x 90 minute sessions for each class.
